Poisson Rouge Pictures is an award-winning independent film production company founded in 1998 by producer Christopher Granier-Deferre. Now in its eleventh year the company has steadily grown from a shorts’n’promo boutique into one of the most active cross-channel outfits working in film, television, commercials and new media. The company is focused on working with a wide-range of dynamic and innovative writers and directors with the goal of creating powerful and thought-provoking material with wide commercial appeal.

In December 2007 Poisson Rouge Pictures produced Marek Losey’s debut feature film The Hide, starring Alex Macqueen and Phil Campbell.The film premiered at Dinard in October to wide-spread acclaim ("My pick of the festival" - EMPIRE; "Compelling" – BBC FILM NETWORK; "Marek Losey’s Pinteresque debut" - Philip French, THE OBSERVER). Most recently, Poisson Rouge collaborated on Luca Guadagnino’s Io Sono L’amore, Lisa Azuelos’ LOL for Pathé, and Jaco Van Dormael’s feature film Mr Nobody, starring Rhys Ifans, Jared Leto and Diane Kruger. PRP has also recently produced or co-produced a number of projects including Mes Amis, Mes Amours, based on the best selling novel by Marc Levy and starring Vincent Lindon and Virginie Ledoyen, Berlin Film Festival closer Angel, directed by Francois Ozon, and Twice Upon a Time, directed by Eurotrash presenter Antoine de Caunes for French major Gaumont. Other recent production credits include the “thoroughly entertaining period romp“ (Variety) Arsene Lupin starring Kristin Scott-Thomas and Romain Duris, Skyfighters with Clovis Cornillac and Benoit Magimel for Pathé, and Alive! with TF1 International.



Future projects include Gone Too Far, an adaptation of Bola Agbaje’s debut Olivier award-winning play for the screen, Siren a gripping twist on the teens-in-peril genre, by short-film award-winning Canadian director Andrew Hull, and Temple of Venus, the heart-warming tale of finding love set in a small town in the southern States. Directed by Emmy Award nominated director PETER MASTERSON (Convicts / The Only Thrill). The company is also currently developing a feature inspired by the extraordinary life of Phyllis Pearsall who single-handedly invented the A-Z. Based on the best-selling biography by Sarah Hartley, Marek Losey is attached to direct MRS P.
