Silenn Thomas, a native of France and a graduate of the Sorbonne, worked in theatre for Vittorio Gassman and Pina Bausch in Europe as well as on Mike Figgis’ Leaving Las Vegas before graduating from UCLA’s Film School in 1997. While at UCLA Silenn worked for director Luc Besson’s U.S. company, first as a reader and then as director of development. Films produced during this time include The Fifth Element, The Messenger, Taxi and Nil By Mouth. In 2000, she moved to London to set up a company for Tony Award winning British stage director David Leveaux in conjunction with USA Films.

Silenn returned to America in 2003 to work on Figgis’ Cold Creek Manor and was hired later that year by Atmosphere Entertainment MM Chairman Mark Canton to work on Taking Lives, which was the first film released under the Atmosphere Pictures MM banner. While a director of development at Atmosphere, she served as associate producer on Atmosphere MM’s Land of the Dead, released by Universal Pictures, Nothing But The Truth released by New Line, 300 based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller and directed by Zach Snyder released by Warner Bros Pictures/Virtual Studios/Legendary Picts and most recently on Spiderwick Chronicles directed by Mark Waters produced by Kathleen Kennedy and released by Paramount Pictures.
